Why We Are Moving to India...

"In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." -Proverbs 16:9

And that is exactly where we are right now in our lives. As a couple, we've had our share of late night conversations where we talked about our lives, our family, and where we wanted to be in five years. We talked about our dreams, goals, and having that mortgage paid off in X amount of years. As pastors,we discussed the direction of the church and the events that we will host in the future. As a mother, I walked by the school many times that would have been the one my kids would have attended.We dreamed about Christmas with the grandparents, soccer games, swimming in the summers, BBQ's on that new grill....but then GOD.

To say that our plans are interrupted wouldn't be accurate. They are CHANGED...but only to something much BIGGER and much BETTER. God himself has changed our plans.

About four months ago the voice of the Lord began speaking to us, redirecting our steps, reforming our dreams to His dreams. He has told us to return to India to care for the orphans and love the unloved. After recieving confirmation after confirmation we are convinced that NOW is the time for us to return to India. It has been six years since my husband and I left India and came to live in America. We always knew that one day God would be sending us back...we just thought that it would be sometime in the far future. We had dreams, we had goals, but God also has a dream...and that dream is that NO child go hungry, no child go unloved, no child go uncared for. God's dream is for you and I to rise up and say yes to His dream.

A few months ago we said YES. Yes to the call of a nation, yes to the joy of caring for God's children, yes to the pain of saying goodbye to those we love here, yes to a walk of faith, yes to the call, YES, YES, YES LORD.

This walk with God has been a journey where he has led us every step. Raj having to grow up in an orphanage without a family to surround him is so that today he gets those kids. When I see him interact with them I can see that he loves them deeply because he knows what they are going through...and I see how much they adore him. God speaking India over my heart as a 16 year old girl, sending me there to get educated culturally, and how he orchestrated bringing me and Raj together...it's all been leading up to now. We know without a doubt that everything that we have been through, every preparation that we have recieved, is all to bring us to the exact point of where we are right now. To return to India and serve Him for the rest of our lives.

So here we are..at the beggining of an amazing journey with God. We have alot to do before we leave. We have to sell a house that we just bought one year ago..we both thought it was our dream house...it's funny how God's dreams are bigger than our own.

As of now, we plan on leaving in the month of October of this year 2011. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for this major step. Please pray for our finances and support that we are currently trying to raise.
